The challenge of running 42,195km is an exceptional event and the emotions you will experience before, during and after the race are unbeatable. To avoid any issues and to run it safely, it is important to follow the advice of an expert. Therefore, we created for all of you "The Coach's Corner" with the help of Ignasi de la Rosa and his high performance company: SportPRO Training. What does Zurich Marató Barcelona mean to you?

It is the Marathon at home, the one in which while you run, each street brings back memories and experiences very different from those of a marathon, the one in which you are waiting for each neighborhood because you know the city and in which you know that your friends and family will be there cheering you on, preparing for a Marathon is synonymous with a challenge, with friends or alone, but a challenge for which you have to prepare yourself. We propose you 4 Live Instagram sessions so you can solve your doubts, listen to advice from the coach and even from other guest’s (nutritionists, psychologists and the Race Director) on the Instagram account of the Marató:

Set-up training

On Sunday, February 20, at the Mar Bella athletics track and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., we organize a 10km test to assess the starting point, rhythms and HR zones. Our coach, Ignasi de la Rosa - SPORT PRO, will guide the training. We will have a wardrobe and at the end there will be liquid provisioning.

Fartlek training at Front Marítim

On Sunday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 15km fartlek training on flat and paved terrain. Four groups of 35-40 runners will be organized with different paces guided by hares, a first part of 2.5 km will be carried out at 30 sec above the competition pace (target pace of the group) 5 km at target race pace and the last 2.5 km 30 sec below pace. There will be liquid provisioning at the end as well as a cloakroom.

Training "30k test by Finisher"

On Sunday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., we will celebrate the Test 25-30k by Finisher training, at a target race pace, on flat and asphalted terrain. 4 groups of 35-40 runners with different rhythms will be organized. The training will be guided by pacemakers who will set the pace, there will also be liquid supplies during and at the end. The organization will enable a wardrobe space.
