Minimising its environmental footprint is one of the Zurich Marató Barcelona's top priorities. We want our big celebration of sport to be a show of love for the city, the people who live in it and the environment, so we are taking concrete measures to make the Zurich Marató Barcelona a sustainable race.

Promoting public transport

Barcelona boasts an extensive public transport network, so you can hop onto the metro, a bus or a train to get anywhere.

Here are the various options for travelling to the start/finish area of the Zurich Marató Barcelona using public transport.

Metro:

The organiser has struck an agreement with TMB, the local public transport company, to increase the frequency of the metro throughout the morning of the race.

L1 Red Line:
From Hospital de Bellvitge (Bellvitge) to Fondo (Santa Coloma de Gramenet)
L3 Green Line:
From Zona Universitària to Trinitat Nova

Bus:
The following lines stop at Plaça Espanya:
13. 23. 37. 46. 50. 65. 79. 91. 150. 165 y V7

Regional rail:

Sants Station is less than 15 minutes away on foot.

The organiser has struck an agreement with RENFE RODALIES so that participants in the Zurich Marató Barcelona can travel for free on the day of the race.

Barcelona and Bicing

Take a bicycle tour of Barcelona for an even more beautiful view of the city. There are 15 stations within a 750 m radius of the Zurich Marató Barcelona start/finish area.

Chemical toilets
There will be over 200 chemical toilets and urinals.
